Cancer Council Information & Support  13 11 20

(previously called Helpline)

For information about any aspect of cancer, the Cancer Council Helpline is an excellent starting point. The Helpline is a free and confidential telephone information and support service.

  • You can access Information & Support by simply telephoning 13 11 20 (for the cost of a local call).
  • The line is staffed Monday to Friday, from 9am – 5pm. Outside these hours, you can leave a message and your call will be returned.
  • Staff are experienced cancer health professionals, including oncology nurses, counsellors and a radiation therapist.
  • Apart from offering the emotional support which is often needed, the Information & Support staff can provide detailed information about all types of cancer, and answer questions such as :
    - How to prevent cancer or find it early
    - What a diagnosis means
    - What treatment involves
    - How to cope with treatment and its side effects
    - Support services that can help you and your family.

Cancer Council NSW works in partnership with the community to defeat cancer.
