Local woman to climb Mt Kilimanjaro

Rebecca Garske, from Robertson, is preparing right now for the adventure of her life. In August this year, she will fly to Kenya and from there travel into Tanzania where she will commence a 6 day climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, 5,685 metres further up. The climb will involve walking for 4-9 hours per day.

The funds raised by Rebecca’s venture will go to support scientists at the Mater Medical Research Institute who are researching better methods to diagnose and treat prostate cancer.

As part of her fundraising effort, she has planned an “Op Shop Ball” to be held at the Robertson Country Inn, 7pm on Saturday, July 14. Tickets are $50 pp – see full details in the flyer below.

Any contribution, whether a donation (tax-deductible), a donation of goods or an auction prize, or any other form of support, would be greatly appreciated.
